To all the people who are hating on this movie. Get off your high horse and embrace the simpleness and openness of Indian Cinema. This movie caters to a family oriented drama of two small town oriented middle class families. It has the recipe for everything that you would expect from a movie of its caliber. Great acting by Athiya in her first ever impactful role. I trust that she will yearn to perform and surprise all of us in roles like these in the future that showcase her talent. People fail to realize that while Nawazuddin is a co-lead in the movie, the brunt of the legwork is performed by Athiya and the script has beautifully played out to be in her favor up until the end of the movie but there is a plot twist. It’s not anti-climactic and intertwines the emotional highs and lows that a couple goes through. I loved it!

Story line was good. Lengthy and pathetic comedy. Please show some good comedy especially the end scene made me mad and I quit 6 minutes before the movie to end.

#FinalVerdictMotichoor Chaknachoor is all pomp and no substance. It’s average in merits, providing a few laughs intermittently. Its sustaining power at the box-office is doubtful. The film has an intriguing first half filled with humour and the antics of Nawazuddin Siddiqui will definitely leave you in splits. But soon disappointment creeps in as Motichoor Chaknachoor’s second half falls flat predictably when it comes to humour. It isn’t totally captivating. Debutante director Debamitra Biswal Hassan’s writing is plain mediocre. Besides, the second hour is lengthy & it gets tedious. Also, the pre-climax and climax don’t sweep you off your feet. Unfortunately, what happens in Motichoor Chaknachoor is that you root for a few individualistic sequences only, not the film in entirety. In a nutshell, the movie does appeal, but in bits and spurts. Not in totality. An average experience!Special mention should be given to dialogue writer Bhupendra Singh who has given some of the best lines to Nawazuddin Siddiqui. However, we wish he could have retained his series of punches even in the second half. The screenplay of Motichoor Chaknachoor is plain average. One misses a meatier script in the second hour.Interesting concepts don’t necessarily translate into interesting films. Motichoor Chaknachoor fizzles as soon as director Debamitra Biswal Hassan establishes the plot, because neither does the comic factor work nor do the melodrama salvage the show. The film has an anti-dowry message also. However, after a point, the writing doesn’t spring any surprises. You know exactly what’s in store next and that’s what bogs it down. What the director delivers in Motichoor Chaknachoor makes you sit motionless for most parts. It fails to invoke wolf whistles or ovation at the right places. As a result, the viewer feels dejected because the drama is devoid of intensity.Directorially, Debamitra Biswal Hassan’s work gets easier thanks to the presence of seasoned actors but she needs to polish her skills as far as technique is concerned. Music is strictly okay. However, the picturisation of songs camouflages the deficiency. Suhas Gujarathi’s cinematography is decent. Now to the performances. Motichoor Chaknachoor solely rides on Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s shoulders. And he manages to carry off the role with aplomb despite the fact that he’s known for serious cinema. The masses will simply love him in this avatar. Another special mention to Athiya Shetty. From getting the accent spot on to displaying the perfect body language & mannerisms to acing her expressions, she is a revelation to behold. I wish she approves better projects in future. Vibha Chibber, Navni Parihar, Vivek Mishra, Karuna Pandey, Sanjeev Vatsa, Abhishek Rawat, Sapna Sand and Usha Nagar are mere gap fillers but they lend able support. To sum up, Motichoor Chaknachoor kick-starts with rib-tickling moments but fails to retain the humorous momentum throughout. Choosing an unconventional story is great, but it gets cumbersome to sit through the film after a point. Skip it!

MOTICHOOR CHAKNACHOOR REVIEW :-Nawazuddin Siddiqui finally coming out of his intense zone and that thing was enough to create excitement about Motichoor Chaknachoor. The trailer was decent hence expectations were on medium level and thankfully Motichoor Chaknachoor surpasses those expectations. Even though film basically revolves around a wife and husband search, it ends up finding much more than that and gives us a lot of sensible things to take home. As it’s name refers Motichoor Chaknachoor is sweet Motichoor which gets bitter (as in Chaknachoor) for sometime and then again turns Sweet at the end.The story revolves around 36 year old man Pushpinder Tyagi (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) who is trying to find a wife. His entire family is fed up with continuous rejections and Pushpinder himself now feels that he won’t get the perfect wife so he has to compromise. Thier neighbour family is also in search of a man for Annie aka Anita (Athiya Shetty) who wants to marry a man who can take her out of India, foreign. When both Pushpinder and Annie doesn’t find their perfect partners they realise that they can be perfect partners for each other as they both fulfills the needed criteria. Finally Pushpinder gets to taste a Motichoor but how its turns out to be Chaknachoor, find out all stuff in the film.Nawazuddin as Pushpinder is hilarious, he finally gets that funny character as a lead actor of the film and gives a full justice to it. Athiya Shetty as Annnie is sober, she looks beautiful but the writing of her character is not that great. The supporting cast includes some good performances from Vibha Chibber, Navni Parihar, Sanjeev Vats, Karuna Pandey, Abhishek Rawat, Vivek Mishra, Sapna Sand and Usha Nagar. Music of the film does not include any hit numbers but all the songs are situational and that’s why none of them make you feel bored. Dialogues have local Humour and the Bhopal accent is well written and well mouthed. The story of the film is simple but the way it has been presented on screen is praiseworthy. You laugh with the characters, you enjoy their journey and you feel their pain too. The first half of the film is a total fun ride while the second half starts on a slow note and goes bit emotional towards the end. Screenplay has some high moments when you literally say Wow, but it also includes some dull moments which can be forgiven. Debamitra Biswal as director succeeds in making a good film on an ordinary story. He misses a chance of making quite strong film but it is okay to have a good watchable film some times. As a whole, Motichoor Chaknachoor is a decent watchable family entertainer which will surely entertain you for 130 minutes. It will also teach you something about family values and relationship. Although the climax is predictable and quite simple, it is bounded in a situational comedy way which is really awesome. With better climax it would have been a much better film, but being not so harsh this one can be enjoyed once by family audience.RATING- 5/10*

Decide to watch this one due to Nawazuddin however turns out to be a big mistake. The movie is almost 2.5 hours long and it is way too slow. I almost dozed off couple of times. Nawaz is average and hasn’t been used at all by the director.Suniel Shetty’s daughter tries her best however she should realise that acting is not her cup of tea. Even the support cast is very average. There are very few moments in the movie which can be termed as interesting. Overall please avoid if possible.

‘Motichoor Chaknachoor’ has a lot of bumps but a whole lot of love. The film is an effective small town romantic comedy that stretches in an awful manner but works because of some fresh performances by a great ensemble starcast.

Nawaz is good as usual but this movie belongs to Athaya Shetty, it’s like her breakout movie. She gives it all and has come out as a new good actress. What I enjoyed was that there was not a boring moment. Recommended!

This movie is about the Indian society which shows when women are selfish and expressive about it, they are blamed. But it is rightful for the guys family to ask openly for Dowry and the guy to slap his wife. Still the wife is blamed. Plus the guy hides that he is jobless still he is not blamed as much as his wife.

The biggest failure of this movie was the filmmaker’s total inability to make full use of Nawazuddin’s immense talent. He was extremely restrained, reserved and underplayed his role/character totally which robbed us the viewers of getting a chance to see how good he really is in comedy a la Sanjeev Kumar/Amitabh Bachchan. This was a huge factor in the movie failing to hit the mark. On the other hand Ms.Shetty(Sunil Shetty’s daughter)who made her debut in this movie was brilliant and definitely has the potential to go on to bigger things where her acting is concerned. The rest of the cast like the direction, screenplay and editing were all way below average. The movie at 2.21 hrs was at least 20 minutes too long. Thankfully there were no songs. It’s a major pity that we could not get to see NS in full form otherwise the movie would have been beautiful purely because of his superb acting NS’s USP is his brilliant acting;nothing else! And if you don’t capitalize on that, then why have him in the film. 4/10

This film includes a scene where over a small disagreement the husband slaps the wife. The film then seeks to blame the wife for provoking him and rather than focus on his disgusting act shows the girls parents not showing her support after. Even her friend turns on her while they play a song that is saying over such ‘small matters’ one shouldn’t part this way with loved ones. This film promotes the kind of unhelpful narrative which normalises violence against women in India. It has no place in India’s present and future. All the educated people involved in this film should be deeply ashamed of themselves for ever agreeing to produce this film.

This is a very good movie, adressing an issue that people are very ignorant about. There is a massive population who prioritize the partner search purely based on their hunt for fee visa, and soon end up divorced. The happy ending here is a typical cinematic happy ending where in the real world, it ends up in lifelong domestic problem or separation.I strongly suggest viewers to make their own opinion after watching the movie and not fall for any negetive reviews.

Anita aka Annie(Athiya Shetty) a young girl from Bhopal, decides she will only marry an NRI.In the neighboring house, Pushpinder Tyagi(Nawzuddin) who works in Dubai and is a 36-year-old bachelor looking for a bride, is visiting his family. So will a romance brew between both of them?Motichoor Chaknachoor,,. set on the small town Conditions and the usual mix of strange characters that we have often seen in movies set in Northern India.1st half, there are some genuinely funny moments. Nawazuddin shines in some of the comic and emotional scenes.Athiya Shetty is worst looker n Bogus actress.Overall, Motichoor Chaknachoor comes off as a mixed bag – very entertaining first half but the second half plays spoilsport heavily.

This movie is one of those movies that deserves much more better reception than it has, as more people watch it, it will get better appreciation. Every characters has played their role so perfectly. I don’t know what that dialogue accent is, but movie maker has used it very intelligently, and each actor has shown superb command in their dialogue accent.Master performer, The one and only Nawazuddin has justified his role with ease, though this kind of role is out of his league, it was perfectly played. Playing a role of gentleman, he seemed little off in few of the scenes, may be intentionally or may be unintentionally, for that reason he gets 9 out of 10.This is my first time watching Athiya Shetty in the movie, she is the heart of this movie. She seems very natural actor, that she proves in this movie. Once you see her in this movie, it will seem that this role was written for her, you will not be able to imagine any other known actress playing this role better than her, she gets 10 out of 10. This movie will create lot more bigger fan base for her, that too among the movie makers. And last, this movie has great music and perfectly placed songs. All songs runs in background, pay attention to songs and its lyrics, chances are that you will be re running each one of them on YouTube afterwards.Go watch this refreshing movie, you will appreciate it that you did.
